But see how ‘Esav has been looted, their secret treasures searched out!
Everything you treasure most will be taken from you.
How is Esau searched! his hidden things sought out!
How have they searched Esau, how have they sought out his hidden things?
But the enemy will search hard for Esau’s hidden treasures, and they will find them all.
But people will take everything from Esau's people (also called Edom). They will even take the valuable things that you hide.
Oh, how completely Esau will be ransacked! His hidden treasures will be searched out and looted!
How Esau has been pillaged, his treasures sought out!

But you, Edom, will ·really lose everything [be cleaned/L searched out]! People will find all your hidden treasures!
How are the things of Esau sought up, and his treasures searched?
But you, Esau, will lose everything. Even your hidden treasures will be looted.
Descendants of Esau, your treasures have been looted.

But you, Edom, will really lose everything! People will find even your hidden treasures!

Oh how Esau will be searched out And his hidden treasures ransacked!
How Esau has been pillaged; his treasures have been ransacked!
Every nook and cranny will be searched and robbed, and every treasure found and taken.
“If thieves crept up on you, they’d rob you blind—isn’t that so? If they mugged you on the streets at night, they’d pick you clean—isn’t that so? Oh, they’ll take Esau apart, piece by piece, empty his purse and pockets. All your old partners will drive you to the edge. Your old friends will lie to your face. Your old drinking buddies will stab you in the back. Your world will collapse. You won’t know what hit you. So don’t be surprised”—it’s God’s sure Word!— “when I wipe out all sages from Edom and rid the Esau mountains of its famous wise men. Your great heroes will desert you, Teman. There’ll be nobody left in Esau’s mountains. Because of the murderous history compiled against your brother Jacob, You will be looked down on by everyone. You’ll lose your place in history. On that day you stood there and didn’t do anything. Strangers took your brother’s army into exile. Godless foreigners invaded and pillaged Jerusalem. You stood there and watched. You were as bad as they were. You shouldn’t have gloated over your brother when he was down-and-out. You shouldn’t have laughed and joked at Judah’s sons when they were facedown in the mud. You shouldn’t have talked so big when everything was so bad. You shouldn’t have taken advantage of my people when their lives had fallen apart. You of all people should not have been amused by their troubles, their wrecked nation. You shouldn’t have taken the shirt off their back when they were knocked flat, defenseless. And you shouldn’t have stood waiting at the outskirts and cut off refugees, And traitorously turned in helpless survivors who had lost everything. * * *
How the things of Esau have been ransacked! How his hidden treasures hunted out!
But you, Esau, will lose everything. Even your hidden treasures will be looted.
How Esau has been searched out, his treasures hunted down!
Oh how Esau will be searched, And his hidden treasures searched out!
“O how Esau will be ransacked, And his hidden treasures searched out!
But note how they will ransack Esau and steal his hidden treasures.
But you, Edom, will really lose everything! People will find all your hidden treasures!
How the people of Esau will be thoroughly plundered! Their hidden valuables will be ransacked!
People of Esau, everything will be taken away from you. Your hidden treasures will be stolen.
But how Esau will be ransacked, his hidden treasures pillaged!
But how Esau will be ransacked, his hidden treasures pillaged!

O how Esau will be robbed! His hidden riches will be looked for until they are found.
Every nook and cranny of Edom will be searched and looted. Every treasure will be found and taken.
